Celebrating 25 years of exceptional service

Tudor Rose celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2023 and production manager Stuart Fairbrother has now become the first member of the team, founders aside, to reach a personal milestone of 25 years with the business.

“As the person who provides final sign-off on our work, it’s safe to say that Stuart has read many more pages of Tudor Rose content than anyone else,” said Toby Ingleton, director and co-founder of Tudor Rose. “We are incredibly grateful for his high standards, hard work, dedication and friendship over the past quarter of a century and look forward to working alongside him for many more years.”

Golf Course Architecture receives prestigious Harry Colt Award

Tudor Rose’s Golf Course Architecture magazine has been named as the 2023 recipient of the Harry Colt Award by the European Institute of Golf Course Architects. This award is given in recognition of an individual or organisation’s outstanding contribution to golf and golf development. Previous winners include professional golfers Bernhard Langer and Annika Sorenstam, and the golf sustainability organisation GEO Foundation.

Tim Lobb, president of EIGCA, said: “The publication has played a vital role in advancing understanding and appreciation of golf course architecture”. Tudor Rose director and GCA publisher Toby Ingleton accepted the award at the EIGCA’s annual meeting, which this year took place in Belek, Turkey. Toby is pictured alongside two members of the GCA team, designer Libby Sidebotham and news editor Richard Humphreys. EIGCA has provided us with a replica of the award to keep forever, which will be proudly on display in our Leicester offices.

Tudor Rose participates in early adopter programme for UN Global Compact

UN Global Compact is a voluntary initiative to encourage participating businesses to implement sustainability principles and take positive steps towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Tudor Rose has been a participant since January 2012, submitting an annual Communication on Progress (CoP) and participating in a variety of associated initiatives and training programmes to support our social, economic and environmental sustainability performance goals.

In 2021, the company signed up to be an early adopter of the new format CoP alongside 850 other organisations from around the world (approximately five per cent of all participants). All participants in the early adopter programme (which is now closed) received advance access to the pre-release version of the new CoP digital platform and had the opportunity to provide targeted feedback that will shape the platform before its full release in 2023. Our work in this programme has led to a more rigorous analysis of our performance and has helped us to set more ambitious goals for the future.

New project supports Microsoft’s work to transform industry

The latest collaboration between Tudor Rose and Microsoft is a digital publication titled Transforming Industry, which showcases work being done by Microsoft’s community of global systems integrator and advisory partners across a broad range of sectors.

Introduced by Microsoft’s global vice president Takuya Hirano and including contributions from Accenture, DXC, Fujitsu and KPMG, Transforming Industry was produced by the team responsible for Tudor Rose’s Technology Record publication. “Transforming Industry offers business leaders worldwide a blueprint for the adoption of cloud-based technology, demonstrating how these new tools can drive efficiency whilst delivering better products, solutions and services,” said Andy Clayton-Smith, executive editor of Technology Record.

Tudor Rose helps to launch Thames Freeport

Tudor Rose has collaborated with DP World and Forth Ports to publish Thames Freeport – Britain’s Trading Future, which outlines how the UK Government is working with ports, local authorities, businesses and other stakeholders to design a new, bespoke freeport model for the UK.

The book features contributions from various partners who highlight the opportunities and early successes of the freeport in the context of a post-Covid and post-Brexit world.

Printed editions were available at the commercial launch event for Thames Freeport, which took place in London, UK, on 15 September and was attended by representatives from DP World, Forth Ports, and Ford UK at Dagenham and featured a speech by UK Chancellor Rishi Sunak.

The publication is also available in digital format.

Tudor Rose has published its seventh book in the ‘A Better World’ series that focuses on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Volume 7 is dedicated to SDG 17: Partnership for Goals. Leigh Trowbridge, who leads the Tudor Rose human development publications team, said: “Collaboration across societal sectors has emerged as one of the defining concepts of international development in the 21st century. Partnership has thus become an essential paradigm in sustainable development.”

Tudor Rose is celebrating ten years of publishing its Cruise & Ferry magazine suite. With a history of almost 30 years, having originally been launched by Euromoney in 1992, Cruise & Ferry Review is essential reading in the global cruise and ferry industries.

Tudor Rose acquired the brand in 2011 and it has gone from strength to strength, even amid the coronavirus pandemic, which has presented so many new challenges to businesses in the sector.

Tudor Rose joins over 1,200 organisations renewing support for the UN Global Compact’s sustainable policies

Tudor Rose is one of the 1,200+ organisations from more than 100 countries that is showing its support for the United Nations Global Compact, the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, by signing a new Statement from Business Leaders for Renewed Global Cooperation.

The Statement was presented by Sanda Ojiambo from the UN Global Compact at the opening of the Private Sector Forum at the Uniting Business Live event, which marks the opening of the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

“We have worked closely with the UN from our foundation in 1998 and the launch of our first publication, Natural Disaster Management, and this continues today with our Human Development Forum. We are committed to sustainable business and delighted to renew our support to this global effort,” said Jon Ingleton, managing director at Tudor Rose.

Jon Ingleton named ‘Unsung Hero’ at CSI Awards

Tudor Rose director Jon Ingleton was named ‘Unsung Hero’ at the first ever Cruise Ship Interiors Awards. The special award presented by the judges as “recognition for all he does in uniting the industry”. Jon emphasised that he was accepting on behalf of the entire Tudor Rose team that work on our Cruise & Ferry Interiors publication.

The awards ceremony, originally scheduled to take place in Miami, USA, was held as a virtual event due to the coronavirus pandemic. CFR launches first-ever Ship of the Year Awards

For our first publication of the new decade, the Spring/Summer 2020 issue of Cruise & Ferry Review, we asked our readers to nominate their favourite passenger ships with a view to crown four winners of our inaugural Ship of the Year Awards in the magazine.

While we hadn’t anticipated that the results would come at a time where the world is facing a health crisis and the passenger shipping industry is on pause, perhaps the thousands of votes received can serve as an ideal way to remind ourselves of the achievements, passion and innovative spirit that the industry has long been celebrated for.

The new decade has also brought other changes, including a refresh of our branding and design for consistency with our annual Cruise & Ferry Interiors and Cruise & Ferry Itinerary Planning publications.
